Writing Update

August 7, 2018

The Rabbit Hole is out. This is a novel about travel, growth, and love. The Korean Drama genre had a heavy influence on the novel.

I have no immediate plans to begin work on my next novel. I'm going to take some time off, unless something strikes my fancy.

I have made no decision on what my next project will be. The long in abeyance Rider's Doom deserves its day in the sun, but I find that I can generate little enthusiasm for it atm.

I may perhaps go with another standalone novel, but don't have a new story that appeals to me at present.

I haven't posted in some time, mainly because I haven't had anything to post. I am currently working on a sci-fi novel called The Rabbit Hole

I have enjoyed writing the book immensely. It is another standalone story. The draft is nearly finished and I expect it to be complete in a few weeks. The novel should be published by October of this year, if nothing untoward occurs.

I'm not sure at this point what I might work on next. The fourth book in the Inconvenient Magic series is perculating but not generating much in the way of words on the page. The long fallow third (and final) book in theChronicle of the Rider series would seem to demand its turn, but I don't feel any motivation when I think of it.

Tunnels is the farthest along of my unfinished stuff and it shares a tryptich with The Rabbit Hole

Technology, Begin: is now available for purchase on Amazon. The Kobo version will follow in a few days.

June 14, 2017

The draft for Technology,Begin: is complete. My expectation is that the novel will be out before the end of the month.

The story grew beyond my target length, so I have added the subtitle An Unwanted Odyssey Part I. This episode of Everett's story should finish in the next novel (Part II), which does not have a title yet.

I have just uploaded the files for TTCE&P to Amazon and the book should be available to purchase in about a day. I'll get the files up on Kobo in another couple of days.

Polishing the draft took a couple of weeks longer than I anticipated and I apologize for the delay. TTCE&P is somewhat different from my standard fare, but it was the story that I wanted to tell at this time.

I am back to work on Technology:Begin and have mapped out a about a third of the novel. I hope to have it done in as little as three months, but as we all know my track record for making deadlines and keeping them is poor.

December 26, 2016

The draft of TTCE&P will be finished by the 31st of this month and the book will be published in January. For the coming year, my plan is to resume work on Technology, Begin: and then to work on Rider's Doom. My expectation is that both will be out by mid-year. I wish everyone a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

October 13, 2016

A number of worldy concerns have greatly reduced the amount of energy that I have been able to devote to writing in the last two months and consequently Time Traveler's Currency Exchange and Pawn still needs quite a bit of work. Since I don't want to rush it, I think that it will not be published until the spring. There is a small chance that I might manage to get it out the door by December. Otherwise, not much is moving on the writing front.

August 30, 2016

TTCE&P is proceeding rather slowly this month. I'm going to try to get caught up so that I can focus on it in September. I'm still hoping to get it out in October, but at the moment December seems more likely.

July 24, 2106

Work is proceeding on TTCE&P, but with the better weather I have returned to some of my outside projects. I plan to publish the novel around October, but as always this is only a projection, not a promise.

May 17, 2016

I have settled on Time Traveler's Currency Exchange and Pawn and am working on it exclusively. It is coming along well and my expectation is that it will be published in a few months. The novel will not be hard sci-fi. While the setting is contemporary, the plot would best be described as adventure-fantasy. I believe that, if possible, I will list it in both the Fantasy and Science Fiction categories. The book will be a stand-alone novel and I cannot conceive at this point of it ever having a continuation of any sort. While I understand that most of my audience prefers series fiction, I have decided to write this novel to suit itself, rather than the market. I hope that some of you are able to buy it and enjoy it, but I am not writing the novel with a strictly commercial intent. It's just story that I want to write at this time. This will of course mean that work on my other novels will be pushed off until next year.

March 25, 2016

Technology, Begin: is simmering but not being written at the moment. I may start work on something else. At this stage and considering all of the other tasks currently making demands on my time, I do not expect to publish another novel of any sort until late in the fall. My apologies to those looking for another book, but alas the muse apparently has moved to the south of France for the season.

February 20,2016

Technology, Begin: is not progressing. For me, writing in a humorous vein requires a certain positive motivation and this unfortunately has been lacking. At present, most of my spare energy is going into the design of a MMORPG. My youngest son and I have been potty training my youngest grandson and have found this a very fullfilling and rewarding venture. At this stage, I cannot give a projection as to when TB will be published and I am tempted to work on some of my other in progress novels in an attempt to find other inspiration.
